Europe 2020 Strategy

Caritas Europa urges the European Union and its member states to respect their pledges about social goals agreed upon in 2010 when launching the Europe 2020 Strategy.

Within this political process, Caritas Europa has been especially active in the policy debate on food for deprived and children and family poverty

Every year since 2011, Caritas Europa produces a Shadow Report on Europe 2020 about the progress made by member states to achieve the social goals of the Europe 2020 Strategy.

Since 2012, Caritas Europa is complementing the Shadow Report with a Crisis Monitoring Report that focus on the social impact that the economic crisis and the implemented austerity measures are having on EU countries and most specifically on those countries that have required economic help from the EU alone or from the EU along witht the International Monetary Fund and the European Central Bank.
