Caritas Internationalis and Caritas Europa are holding the last global training for the national coordinators of the Caritas Internationalis Management Standards on 13-15 February in Bucharest, Romania.
43 people from across the Confederation have registered to the training. “On behalf of Caritas Europa, I am very happy to welcome Caritas friends from all over the world to this training. Besides the European Caritas, we will have the chance to work with peers from Nepal, Liberia, Irak, Eritrea, India, Congo, Egypt, Malawi, Macau, Mozambique, Kenya and from the Secretariat of the MONA region,” said Jorge Nuño Mayer, Secretary General of Caritas Europa.
After travelling the world and visiting all the regions of the Confederation, the CI MS training finally comes to a conclusion at the event in Bucharest. “We have been ‘on the road’ for one and a half year. I met many wonderful people. During each visit, I was reminded of how great a work the Caritas confederation does with and for the poorest. With these standards, the confederation will bring even more professionality and quality to its services to the people in need,” said Annamária Vrzáckova, Programme Manager for the CIMS at Caritas Internationalis.
During the two and a half days of the training, the national coordinators will learn about their role and responsibilities; how to manage the implementation process of the CIMS in their organisation; how to organise a self-assessment exercise and prioritise the identified weaknesses, and, finally, how to present the required documentation for the external CI assessment.
