Every year we, the team of Caritas Moldova, celebrate International Volunteer Day, held on 5 December. It is a perfect chance to appreciate the efforts of the youth involved, to share their experience, values and to promote their work in community.

Therefore, this year on 14 December 2019, we once again organised the Festival of Volunteers, 11th edition. We are thrilled to announce that the number of volunteers is continually increasing and we got together almost 80 volunteers, from both banks of the Dniester, at the last event.

In addition, we had special guests that came personally to congratulate the teenagers for their devotion and interest in changing lives. We welcomed the Bishop of Chisinau, the General Vicar of Diocese of Chisinau and the Volunteer Coordinator, Diocese of Chisinau.

After the guests’ speeches, each team showed us a small presentation about their activity for this year, and it was an additional confirmation, for them and us, about the positive impact they bring. We also prepared educational events and workshops for them and, at the end of the program, we awarded each volunteer a diploma and a gift.

The Festival of Volunteers is one of the most important events dedicated to volunteers of all ages involved in civic activities within the projects implemented by Caritas Moldova. It is an excellent platform for networking between them.

We appreciate all the beautiful things they do, all the positive energy they share and the dedication they bring throughout the year. We are convinced that changes come through every personal involvement!
