Migration & development
10-11 September 2019
In the context of the MIND project, Caritas Europa is organising a one and a half day civil society strategising training workshop on migration and development. The MIND project aims to change the negative rhetoric about migration and migrants by raising public awareness of the relation between sustainable development and migration and the EU’s role in development cooperation.
This training workshop will be open to both the Caritas network (for the full one and a half days) and to other NGOs working on these topics at EU level (only for the first day).
The first day of the training workshop will include input from academics, EU level advocacy experts, and focus on participants’ understanding of the migration-development nexus. The second day of the training workshop will look at how the different Caritas organisations experience the interconnection between migration and development, consider possible thematic overlaps, discuss possible advocacy actions and build further synergies in our work.
Who can attend
Migration and development experts from each Caritas Member Organisation, especially those in the MIND project and the SDG and M&A AGs. Specific external experts will be invited directly for the first day.
