Europe 2030 Strategy to reduce child poverty

Caritas Europa, together with the other members of the EU Alliance for Investing in Children, calls the European Commission to launch a proposal for a comprehensive, social and sustainable Europe 2030 Strategy that will include the promotion of equality, poverty reduction and social inclusion.

The Strategy should be aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda and its SDGs, as well as with the European Pillar of Social Rights. The EU should also set an ambitious target to tackle poverty and child poverty.

Caritas further insists on strengthening social and economic policy coordination and on improving the monitoring of and funding for the implementation of the Europe 2030 Strategy.
