Caritas Europa will organise a workshop on organisational development on 23-24 February 2015 in Vienna. The event will be a follow up to the work that started with the CMS Workshop of 2013 and continued last March 2014 at the first OD workshop.
This workshop is framed within the 3 pillars of the network´s institutional development plan for its member organisations, namely:
- Caritas development fund (CDF). Caritas Albania, Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania and Serbia have just finalised the first year of their 3-year long development plan, and they will be present to share their experiences with the rest of participants, who are today either drafting their first plan or just submitted their plan for approval during the selection that took place 17-18 November.
- Management Standards and Risk Management. The self-assessment tool originally included in Caritas Europa´s Common Management Standards (CMS) have become an indispensable tool for any organisational development process. As from January 2015, this tool will change with the entry into force of the new global standards of Caritas Internationalis (CI MS). The new standards are covering a wider amount of areas than the original CMS. Hence, participants in the workshop will practice working with the new self-assessment tool and learn how to master it. As part of CDF, the applicants have to be knowledgeable with risk management. Therefore, the Secretariat will dedicate a section of the workshop to discuss the implementation of a risk management process when developing an implementation plan. Risk management is closely linked to the self-assessment process since when identifying weaknesses, risk management will help any organisations to make priorities and better focus on in the upcoming years.
Capacity building. The Secretariat will dedicate a slot of the workshop to present the forthcoming learning path on organisational development. The learning path will offer an 18 months long academic curriculum to key-people in member organisations that want to develop an advanced expertise in organisational development.
