Caritas Europa member organisations are witnessing the devastating effects that the COVID-19 crisis and the measures taken to address it have on families and children experiencing poverty.
The pandemic is damaging people’s lives and exposing weaknesses of European healthcare systems and persisting social inequalities in our societies. Caritas Europa, together with the other members of the Investing in Children Alliance, asks in a joint statement to protect children during and after the COVID-19 crisis. Proposed measures include immediate short-term as well as long-term support for the wellbeing of children and families, such as through the adoption of a comprehensive, social and sustainable Europe 2030 Strategy.
