About Caritas Ukraine - SPES

Caritas-Spes, the religious Mission of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, has more than 30 organisations and more than 50 aid centers.

With the full-scale Russian invasion, the Mission expanded its activities through RCC parishes and scaled up its humanitarian work. The war in Ukraine has led to one of the most critical and historic humanitarian situations in Europe since World War II.

The Caritas family, which is the helping hand of the Catholic Church, having well-developed mechanisms for responding to emergencies, supported Ukrainians by announcing an emergency appeal for help. The Confederation, as an organization based on the principles of partnership and fraternal cooperation, expressed solidarity with Caritas member organizations in Ukraine and abroad through an emergency appeal.

Caritas-Spes Ukraine implements more than 23 humanitarian projects throughout Ukraine, including regions near the frontline. More than a year after the full-blown war, Caritas-Spes Ukraine, along with its partners, currently covers 23 regions of Ukraine and more than 15,000 settlements, including frontline zones. Today, the activities of Caritas-Spes Ukraine are supported by more than 100 partners.
