Caritas Europa welcomes the EPSCO Council adoption of the Council Recommendation establishing the European Child Guarantee.

The framework aims at breaking the cycle of poverty and social exclusion across generations by calling on EU Member States to guarantee access to basic services for children in vulnerable situations. Member States now must submit ambitious Child Guarantee National Action Plans within 9 months and to nominate a national Child Guarantee Coordinator.

Caritas Europa, together with the other members of the EU Alliance for Investing in Children has been ceaselessly working with the EU institutions to ensure the adoption of a strong and ambitious framework.
