How to do advocacy on social media

Turning your messages into content people care about

Join us for a practical online session on how to create engaging social media content, simplify without oversimplifying, identify the message that matters, choose the right formats and adapt content for different platforms.

Advocacy doesn’t stop at policy papers. If people are going to understand an issue and care enough to support change, our messages need to reach them where they already spend time, including social media.

This practical webinar looks at why social media matters for policy communications, and how to turn advocacy messages into content that people understand, engage with and care about, without losing substance or credibility. Speakers will share practical tips, examples and lessons on finding the right message, making evidence engaging, using stories, choosing formats, adapting content across platforms and measuring impact.

The first part of the session will feature Roi Gomez, Communications Officer for Social Media and Content Creation at the European Environmental Bureau a Brussels-based NGO working on climate policy. Over the past years, EEB has built a reputation for bold, creative, and highly effective social media work.

In the second part we will hear from Magdalena Lechhab, Senior Social Media Manager at Caritas Vienna and Kai Evans, Digital Communications Executive at Trocaire (Caritas Ireland), who will present best practices from their work bringing policy topics to social media.

This event is open to communications staff in Caritas Europa member organisations.
