Caritas Europa contributed to the European Commission consultation on legal migration in December. The contributions received will feed into the European Commission’s upcoming legislative reforms and new initiatives in the field of regular migration that were announced with the launch of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum in September.

Through this contribution, we reiterated our call for the development of safe and regular pathways to Europe for labour purposes (covering different skills sets), for the respect human rights and decent work, and for ensuring family reunification.

Drawing from our members’ experience and input, we filled in the survey prepared by the European Commission, accompanied by this annex document which provides further insight into our views on regular migration.
