Neglected crises

Across the world, people suffer in crises unseen and underfunded.

As crises multiply across the world, global attention shifts quickly. Yet, long after headlines move on, humanitarian crises continue to devastate communities.

At Caritas we are committed to providing consistent, comprehensive and effective humanitarian assistance to save lives and restore dignity to people living in the most vulnerable situations, long after political and media attention has moved on.

This year, Caritas Europa will shed a light on some of what we often refer to as “neglected crises”: situations pushed to the margins of the political agenda, where people’s suffering continues largely unseen. In many of these contexts, Caritas members and local partners remain present, working alongside affected communities. Through this focus, we aim to amplify local voices, demonstrate what locally led action can achieve when backed by stable support and bring renewed international attention to realities that must not be forgotten.
